Snowshoe Mt. Ski Weekend 2018

Presidents' Day weekend-- February 16 - 19, 2018

This is, I think, our 5th annual trip to Snowshoe? It's a huge amount of fun, and lemme tell you, the skiing has been exceptional during each of our trips to Snowshoe. Mid-February in the WV snow belt-- tons of snow.

We are able to accommodate approximately 8 teens-in-recovery for the trip. The weekend consists of hot-tubbing on the back porch of the condo in snowstorms (very cool), hanging out in the fairly luxurious condo located on-the-slopes, gathering at lunchtime for Brooke's amazing fresh mozarella panini's with piping hot organic soups, Chris' amazing blueberry pancakes, recovery discussion groups in the evening around the fireplace, snow tubing, ski and snowboard instructional support, and much more!

We have a full staff of awesome Potomac Pathways counselors and peer mentors along to help make the weekend recovery-supportive, adventurous, awesome and fun! However, this is a trip for teenagers who have progressed in recovery to the point where we can all be reasonably assured that they can maintain sobriety with the moderate level of supervision that can happen at a ski area.

Snowshoe jumpingThe cost of the weekend event is $802.50. That covers almost everything, including: accommodations in condo on the slopes, all lift tickets, meals, transportation from and to Potomac Pathways, clinical program (recovery groups / any required clinical support).  Equipment rentals are an additional charge which we will bill you for by email invoice. You can pay for the trip pretty much any time up until departure, but, you would want to reserve your spot as soon as you know you desperately want to come along-- because this trip tends to fill up. The trip could be-- a holiday present? a reward for progress in recovery? or, since it is Presidents' Day weekend, it could be an obvious opportunity to celebrate the life of George Washington, without whom, there would be no Snowshoe. Think about it.

Loggers Run1

You would want to provide your own spending money for extra snacks or drinks at the lodge, for example, but that's really about it. If any of the teens has a need to purchase any additional gear, we can make the purchase and invoice you after the trip. In the past, kids have needed to purchase such things as ski goggles, gloves, hats, etc. So, get your gear together and plan to join us! Snow is flying right now (use the app in the right sidebar to check Snowshoe's snow conditions)! THINK SNOW!

Call or email us to reserve your spot, or go ahead and pay for the trip, and we'll save your spot.

Click here to pay $802.50 to reserve and pay the full cost of the trip. Everything included is awesome and is described above. Equipment rentals are extra. World Nomads adventure trip insurance is $51 for the duration of the trip. Let us know, and we can purchase that for you and bill you for the cost (or you can purchase for yourself). An amazing recovery-winter-wonderland adventure awaits!
